Where to stay when visiting Ascent Technology

Hotels Ascent Technology and Ascent Technology's visitors recommend

Here is a list of the hotels at which recent visitors to Ascent Technology stayed, all within walking distance of Ascent Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

It is difficult to book rooms on short notice in early June when MIT holds Commencement ceremonies and in mid-October when MIT hosts Family Weekend.

Both Ascent Technology and Ascent Technology's visitors highly recommend The Kendall Hotel, a boutique hotel in the renovated 19th century Kendall Square fire house.

The Kendall Hotel is small and slightly funky, with a delightfully cozy Black Sheep Restaurant and Bar. It offers a country-inn atmosphere and personal service, as well as a complementary full-buffet breakfast for hotel guests. The Boston Marriott Cambridge Hotel and a branch of the area's leading seafood restaurant, Legal Seafoods, is across the street. It is a three-minute walk to Ascent Technology.

The Boston Marriott Hotel Cambridge, the 431-room full-service hotel located in Kendall Square, is across the street from Ascent Technology. It has restaurants, lounges, and a Starbucks coffee store. A branch of the area's leading seafood restaurant, Legal Seafoods, is next door.

For longer stays, we recommend the Marriott Residence Inn, an extended-stay hotel located less than two blocks from Ascent Technology. It has 220 suites with living and sleeping areas and fully equipped kitchens. It offers a complementary buffet breakfast to hotel guests, and there is a Starbucks Coffee store just around the corner. The Residence Inn is a four-minute walk from Ascent Technology.

The Le Meridien Hotel is a comfortable, contemporary hotel for business travellers. Each guest room has a dual-line phone and dataport. Sidney's Grille, the hotel restaurant, features a comfortable lounge, contemporary food prepared in an open kitchen, and live jazz a few nights each week. It is a 15-minute walk, through the MIT campus, from Ascent Technology.

Another interesting option is the Hotel Marlowe, a luxury boutique hotel located next to the Cambridgeside Galleria shopping mall. It has a business center with complimentary high-speed Internet access, an exercise facility, and the Bambara Restaurant.
